The Pixels That Pays

Fourteen year old Abdulrahman spends most of his time playing games as he dreams of becoming an Esport athlete one day. From nightfall to sunrise, he masters his craft. He participates in online tournaments, he watches gaming tutorials and he studies famous gamers' techniques. However, soon, his passion turns into an addiction, his determination turns into an obsession, and thus begins Abdulrahman’s disconnection from reality…

 
Now Abdulrahman faces many obstacles. His grades are in decline, his body is deteriorating and his family almost never spend time with him. Abdul-Aziz, Abdulrahman’s elder brother, doesn’t take his younger sibling’s state of being with a grain of salt. He does not believe that Esports can be of any benefit to anyone, he believes that it only causes harm. Therefore, he argues with Abdulrahman and he even forbids him from playing games sometimes. Abdul-Aziz’s extreme actions are all in hope to reconnect his little brother back to reality. 

Nevertheless, Abdulrahman has ventured far too deep in the world of the pixels that pay, and his return to the real world might be challenging. 

Whose to say which path is right? Shall we follow the future or shall we hold on to tradition?
